A Spirit Wrought

A Spirit Wrought by Marie Joseph-Charles

Growing up in a devout household, Grace was always told she was special and would change the world. She was a Holy Child, born on Palm Sunday. Her childhood was spent in church, Latin lessons, and prayer. She was shunned by her classmates and community. More than anything, she just wanted to be normal. The one person who let her be herself was her best friend, Aaron. Together as outcasts, Grace and Aaron faced their difficult childhoods together until he was forced to move away.

Life pressed on for Grace as her mother kept trying to force her into the church not knowing that Grace had a secret and its name was Onoskelis.

Onoskelis was a demon who took the form of a beautiful woman, entranced men, and strangled them. As a Holy Child, Grace was able to communicate with the demon who taught her how to walk, talk, dress, and seduce. Together, they took out deadly revenge on the men who broke Grace's heart.

Eventually, Grace moved away from her overbearing mother, left the church, and excelled in a career as a museum curator. But, when Aaron returned to her life, Onoskelis decided it was his turn to die. Grace must fend off the demon who made her the woman she became in order to protect her childhood best friend and the love of her life.

As writers we find our muses in the most unusual places. Our muses choose us and choose when to strike at our sleeping imaginations and help us create something magical. All we need to do is wave our wand- a pen- over paper and create a new world for people to find themselves lost in.

Rainbow in Mourning follows the lives of eight murderers in a sleepy little town nestled within violet covered hills. Some may be sociopaths, psychopaths, or just reached their personal limits. Their motivations may even be something that resonates with you. Their stories are told by the Author. Trapped in a life she never wanted, she desperately seeks to carve out some small semblance of happiness and to rekindle the fire of dreams that have seemingly died away. An unlikely muse, seven arched colors across the sky that are so frequently synonymous with joy and hope, lead her to the horrors of her neighbors' fates. She uses the woe-some tales she finds in local news, spins the stories, and uses the gruesome deaths of others to further her career. But what happens when her muse is gone? Where will she find her inspiration when there aren't any murders being committed?

And More!

What happens when best friends fall in love but don’t know it?  There are two sides to that story and you are going to hear them both.

Suzanne is a sullen but sweet veterinarian in Cincinnati.  As she tells her side of the story, she explains life with her best friend, Frank, who introduces her to childhood friends Keith and Ian.  Suz has never had luck in relationships but she thinks her luck has changed when she meets outgoing and charismatic Keith.

In the beginning, Keith is everything Suzanne could want.  He’s sweet, helpful and protective but as the years progress, a different side of him starts to appear.

While Keith is his best friend, Ian is always there for Suzanne.  As he tells his side of the story, we see how his feelings towards her grow but, due to his current relationship with Megan, he fails to acknowledge them himself.

Frank sees the development between Suzanne and Ian and knows it is something real.  She somehow manages to guide them while her own marriage to Brian collapses and she becomes a single mother of three small children.

It all comes to a head when Keith does something unforgivable and the lovers realize there is only one way to get Suzanne out.

A Story That’s Been Told A Thousand Times is filled with humor, heartache, and characters that are easy to relate to.  I hope you enjoy!
